I ate here last night and I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best restaurant experience of my life. The staff treated us like we were VIP guests. Every single bite of food was cooked to perfection and tasted so incredibly luscious and decadent I haven’t stopped thinking about it. We are from out of town and I honestly don’t know if I would go anywhere else next time we’re back in Chicago.

This dinner was 10/10! We’ve been in search for a French restaurant that matches the caliber of what we experience in Europe and this is it. Every dish was truly better than the next. The oysters were freshest I’ve ever had. The duck on the charcuterie was great. Loved the fish and steak dishes. And that blueberry dessert was next level. Definitely will be going back and excited to try their brunch!

Found Bistro Monadnock simply trying to find a bite to eat a little later in the evening. The Bistro Burger with a side salad was excellent. Perfectly prepared burger and a nicely proportioned salad was a great compliment to the Old Fashioned to wind down a long day. Will be happy to visit again ?

Stopped here for lunch and got the burger and Rachel.
The food was superb and came out pretty fast. Not pictured are the fries were crazy good. The right amount of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a perfect amount of salt.
Service was also extremely attentive despite it being fairly busy.
Would highly recommend them as a lunch spot.

What a wonderful experience at Bistro Monadnock. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! We had lunch to celebrate a special occasion. The food seemed carefully prepared and was beyond expectation! The chef brought our oysters and was kind enough to talk with us about his love of oysters and his priority to choose them carefully. (Best oysters I've ever had!)
The escargot had a tiny puff pastry topping that hit the mark! So good. This restaurant rivals and exceeds dining experiences that we have had in Paris. We can't wait to come back with friends. The Monadnock building is a gem in it's own right- historic architecture and filled with carefully curated shops (shoe maker, suit maker, cute boutiques, etc.) make this a true Chicago experience for locals and visitors. Oui, oui, oui!!

If you are on the fence about going here, check it out! Such an amazing dinner, service, and atmosphere. My wife and I were in Paris last year and it reminded us of one our favorite restaurants called “Chez Germaine”. The host, and waiter were amazing and welcoming. They even gave us a discount for our meal as they had to change our reservations last minute due to a filming taking place during their brunch hours, which we understand and glad we ate from their dinner menu! We are telling all of our friends and family about this amazing restaurant. Their crème brûlée was also the best I’ve had!

TLDR: Service wasn't great and burger was cooked wrong twice.
Overall disappointing service. The food was tasty, but had significant technical issues.

We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. When the waiter finally arrived with room temperature water, we placed our orders and the waiter walked away leaving us with our menus on a very small table.
The menus weren't picked up until later when I reminded the waiter and asked for ice and additional water.
The French onion soup looked great and was tasty, but needed salt (which we had to request since there wasn't any on the table).
We both ordered burgers cooked medium and one order of fries.
The burgers arrived and in the middle of both was the pink and pebbly signs of undercooked. I am fine with it, but my wife isn't, so she asked for it to be fixed.
The fries were good, but salt was very sporadic (some were over salted and some no salt.
My burger was very tasty. It had capers and crunchy salt on it.

By the time my wife's second burger arrived, I was done.
Her new burger was, if anything, cooked less than before.

The waiter did apologize quite a bit, and offered "anything off the menu", which we clarified, meant a complimentary dessert.
At that point we were ready to go.

The waiter told us he "took both burgers off the bill", which turned out meant the two that my wife didn't eat. $50 for 1 soup, 1 burger, and 1 fries.

At no point did a manager stop by.

We went to McDonald's to get my wife some food.

This restaurant is the finest I have experienced for both dinner and brunch. The service and cuisine are exceptional in every regard. The French onion soup and the bistro burger are consistently my preferred choices, yet, in truth, everything is remarkable. It truly leaves one desiring another meal from this establishment not long thereafter.
