We dined here to celebrate a birthday and were overall disappointed. We most enjoyed the scallop appetizer and apple walnut salad. We would not recommend either potato dish. The steak was average and disappointing for the price ($200+ total). We tried two desserts and the swan was good; the cheesecake was phenomenal.

The restaurant is beautiful and it was a nice date, but we do not plan to return. I was also a bit taken aback at the server’s reaction when I asked for a mocktail - he seemed annoyed.

Incredible food. The turbot was to die for. I don't think there are many places who can prepare turbot fish better than this restaurant. The risotto was average but the steaks were unbelievable. The aging on the meat was unlike any other place I have been and I have been to places...
However, the service was nowhere suiting such a great restaurant. Servers with an unnecessary attitude, not even serving water on time or filling wine glasses that we had to do ourselves all night long. Overall, it was a good experience but this place could be much better...

Surprised my husband for his birthday and it was the best decision. Hands down the best steak we’ve ever had in our lives! We had an A-5 12 wagyu steak - literally, by definition, the best. There are no steaks graded higher and there are only 2 places in the US that serve at such a level. The bone marrow mashed and tortilla are a must. Trust me. The service is also excellent. Truly. I’m admittedly horrific with names, but our waiter was just awesome (he had longer hair pulled back in a pony). He made my husband’s birthday expert.

Came for the Thanksgiving experience. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place but it was definitely underwhelming.

First, they totally changed the menu from what they advertised on their website for this experience, several items were missing completely, for example I asked about the bone marrow mashed potatoes (which was a main reason I wanted to try this experience) and the server just kept saying “turkey comes with garlic mashed potatoes” and I had to repeat the question multiple times until she revealed it wasn’t available. So why try to deceive us?

For $165/person you’d expect your menu would be honored the way you advertised it. And for the record, they never acknowledged their menu changed for this experience.

Overall the food was okay but nothing to rave about, I have been to Basque Country in the past and I feel this misses the mark.

Maybe it would’ve been a better experience if I came another time for their regular menu, I’ll never know because I probably won’t be back. Also, at the end I had some of my food boxed and after we paid they never brought my box so I had to get up and ask for it.

Come here if you haven’t, but don’t expect too much except for a large bill.

My husband and I came here to celebrate his new job. I was excited to try this place but ultimately left disappointed.

Pros:
-Good selection of fresh steaks and seafood
-Food was good
-Nice looking restaurant

Cons:
-Service was slow and not what I expected when dinner costed $400+
-Food didn’t “wow” me for the price

I don’t think the food or service was worth us paying $400+. I’m glad I tried it but I will not be returning.

One of the best meals I’ve had in the city. The staff is beyond knowledgeable of the menu and they even brought a platter out of the different cuts and catches they had and went thru each one in detail and helped us make a decision on what to order. Will definitely be coming back for our next celebration

Impeccable food, cocktails and service. Now my favorite steakhouse in Chicago. We had the caviar churros, apple walnut manchego, bluefin tuna carpaccio, arroz cremoso, bone marrow potato purée, dry aged holstein, citrus coupe. Cocktails - the daisy, maple old fashioned, mezcal negroni. All of these are highly recommended.
I was a tad disappointed that we weren't served a complimentary item for our anniversary celebration, but I really think the waiter just missed this and we didn't bother to ask, because he was otherwise amazing. The hostess remembered and congratulated us on our anniversary on the way out! Very impressed.

We were able to walk in on a Sunday for dinner with no reservation, all of the staff were friendly and attentive. Our waiter, Juan, had great recommendations and was extremely friendly & knowledgeable of the menu.

We ordered the black truffle tartare, prawns & sherry, dry aged steak, and some sides to share. Everything was delicious! I’d highly recommend this place for a special occasion dinner.
