Finally found a Maharashtrian style food place in Texas - although it’s 160 miles away from my house in Houston, it was totally worth the drive! I could only try 10 dishes this first time so I am definitely coming back to try all the items from the menu!

Amazing food and great service. A MUST try for anyone visiting Austin (or neighboring cities).

We ordered the following and my honest take on each. My Top 3 were
— Surmai fry - Maharashtrian / Malwani style preparation and hit the spot
— Vada pav - perfect combination of crispiness and spice. The fresh soft pav made it even better
— Misal pav - pav is their signature and makes every dish worth it. The farsan being fresh and crispy is such a small detail but can make or break your experience

— Thecha paneer tikka - excellent take on traditional paneer tikka using Maharashtrian thecha!
— Thalipeeth - amazing taste and great consistency
— Shrikand puri - the puris could be better
— Sabudana vada - I did not enjoy the taste as they were slightly on the sweetish side but everyone with me enjoyed it
— Jhunka Bhakari - the Jhunka was a disappointment and I did not enjoy it’s consistency

For such good food, price isn’t important for me.. But I have to mention that 6 adults (with 3 heavy eaters) ate 10+ dishes and the cost was less than $20 per person! That is DEFINITELY a steak!

After being many days in RR, finally got the opportunity to eat Indian food and it was better than expected… authentic Indian food! It was the only restaurant I tried in the area but definitely as my relatives said… Indian food in Austin is one of the best that you can eat in USA. Thanks very much, hope to go there again in the near future and try other dishes as well.

This Indian restaurant offered a good experience. The Thecha Paneer Tikka was flavorful, Puranpoli a delightful Maharashtrian treat, and Lachchha Paratha was perfect. However, the Malai Tikka was only fair, and the Mango Lassi had too much cardamom, masking the mango flavor, I would not recommend.
Our server, Raiker, was attentive and made the meal enjoyable despite a few food misses.

Fine Maharashtrian cuisine! The pitla with bhakri just melted in the mouth; the Indian hot misal tickled the tongue with its kick; the pav (bread) that went with it was amazing! Kharvas was soft and delicious!

Showed up late on a Monday night and got served such a beautiful and delicious chicken curry and fragrant soft lamb kabobs with garlic naan. The food was so authentic and the service was very very nice. Raikar Uncle is so sweet and hospitable. Chef is also very warm and welcoming. The whole experience was lovely. 10/10

First of all - it is wonderful to see a restaurant with Maharashtrian items on the menu in the Austin area. If you’ve never tried this cuisine, go try something new at this restaurant, and support a new business!
Recommendations based on hailing from this state - Thalipeeth, Sabudana Wada, Kothimbir Wadi, Jhunka Bhakri, Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Puran Poli (works as a main/ dessert), Kairi Panha & Sol Kadhi (refreshing drinks), Kharvas, and definitely get the Meetha Pan.
Recommendations based on dining here - Thalipeeth, saoji Curry & Bhakri, Meetha Pan.
The menu has many items typically found on an Indian eatery menu - with some Maharashtrian items sprinkled throughout. There is definitely a lot more variety for non-vegetarians than those eating veg in the state specific options.
The Thalipeeth was fresh, earthy, smoky and delicious, served with butter and curd.
As I eat veg, I got the Patwadi Rassa, which is typically an oily dish thus I expected it to be so - for the portion size I would consider this overpriced, but understandable given the restaurant is starting out. The flavor was good.
We also got the Saoji chicken, which was flavorful but cooked in a more homestyle manner than typical Nagpur-style Saoji.
Service was polite and quick, and again, it felt great to see/hear the familiarity of Marathi-speakers around (all the servers of course speak fluent English, as you’d expect at any restaurant).
Finally, ‘fine’ cuisine is a stretch, this is a simple, small restaurant, with homely/traditional dishes.
Overall - highly recommend a visit, to explore new tastes/reminisce with familiar ones, and to support a cuisine unique to this metro area.

It specializes in Maharastrian food and once we got to know that, we rushed there!! ?

After a long time we had tasted proper Mumbai style fish, chaat and many more!! If you ask me, we asked chef which dishes are recommended and whatever he suggested we tasted and it was super yum!!

Especially I loved Katori Samosa Chaat, Pomfret fry, Pithla Bhakhri (As I love simple healthy food) and Tambda Rassa ?

But I would recommend to try their other dishes as well!

Staffs are super nice and chef sometimes visits customers and interacts for feedback and share stories behind the food!

Spacious place to have a private event as well!

The dishes we tasted were OG!!!! May be we had Maharastrian food after a loooooooong time or it was chef’s magic!! But it was OG!!!

We would highly recommend this place!!! ?
