First time at The Fed and it won’t be the last. Walked in as a newcomer and was treated like I’d been a regular for years. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—exactly what you hope for in a local spot.

The food was excellent: hearty portions, cooked just right, and priced very fairly. I went with a pasta dish, served with fresh bread, and it absolutely hit the spot. Cold beer on tap and a solid selection rounded it out perfectly.

What stood out most though was the atmosphere. It’s got that perfect mix of pub comfort and community vibe—easy to relax, easy to connect. For a first-time visitor to Kirkland Lake, it made me feel right at home.

Highly recommend The Fed if you’re anywhere nearby. It’s the kind of place that makes a town memorable.

Service was fast, and attentive to our needs.
I ordered chicken wings, and a side caesar, and it was delicious! Some of the best wings I've had in years.
I'd definitely visit again!

We dined in at The Feds and unfortunately had one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever encountered. It started okay—our server took our drink order promptly, and that part went smoothly. But after that, things went downhill. We waited around 15 minutes before anyone took our main order, and once the food arrived (about 20 minutes later), we were not even given cutlery until we had to ask for it.
Throughout the meal, parts of our order were missing, and it took ages to get any follow-up. We informed our waitress about the missing items, but as soon as she walked away, she seemed to completely forget. No one checked in on us, and we felt ignored most of the time.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. The service was inattentive, disorganized, and lacked even the basics. Definitely not the dinner we were hoping for.
