Sweet Georgia Brown, awesome! I was in Dallas to attend the Heart Walk, and I was invited to lunch at the restaurant . Was introduced to the owner and was greeted warmly and we were treated royally. I had the smothered turkey wing , with black eyed peas, cornmeal dressing, and sweet potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious , if you go to Dallas you have to experience the food at sweet Georgia Brown. The portion of food is very generous, I had to get a" to go" box to take home. I didn't try the ribs, but my companion ordered them, and she said they were great . I also had some corn bread.❤️?

Came to Dallas on vacation. We decided to look for a good soul food spot. I got the 2 meat combination with smoked chicken, and ribs. For the sides I got mac and cheese, cabbage, and rice and gravy. If you're in the area you should go. The portion sizes are huge. 1 plate can feed 2 people easily. The Mac and cheese is definitely like your grandma's southern mac and cheese. The cabbage is seasoned well with meat in it, and the smoked chicken is great. I opted out of barbecue sauce on my ribs, but they put it on the side. The ribs were just ok I'm not a fan. But all in all it was worth it go check them out! By the way my cousin had beef tops and rice. She is s lucky Eater and ate all of her food and she don't even eat that much.... Thank me later in my Drake voice!

Between planned trips and just “get on the road and go’s” we come to Dallas A LOT and we NEVER EVER miss a chance to stop by Sweet Georgia Brown’s to grab some food to take back with us. The guys serving are always so personable, hilarious and engaging (they remember us EVERY TIME), and the food is delicious!! Our favorites are the smothered turkey wings, broccoli casserole, yams, Mac & Cheese, greens, and mashed potatoes gravy, and pineapple upside down cake. My personal favorite is the cabbage, ribs, and sausage. I ALWAYS highly recommend SGB’s to everyone!!!

The best soul food! Drove 19 miles to get there. The service is excellent. The volume of food they give you is worth the money. All plates and combos are a shareable size or you will definitely have leftovers.

I am from Georgia and this place was very dissatisfying for me. I gave it two stars only because the macaroni and cheese was good and service was decent. I ordered a fried chicken plate, I really couldn’t eat any of the sides, besides macaroni and cheese because nearly every vegetable has pork in it and I didn’t want yams or cheese casserole! If you market yourself as soul food, your fried chicken should’ve been much better. It taste like it has been sitting most of the day. I literally did not have the strength to go back and ask for them to redo it. There was nothing else I could really get in exchange that I wanted. If you eat pork, you may be okay to eat here. Fried chicken was an absolute No Go! Oh yeah, cornbread was real mid!!!!!

Ginormous portions ! You can get a two or three plate combo and split it . My sides came in a container of their own . Three sides and four pieces of corn bread with my two meat combo . My partner got the catfish combo . He liked the catfish . Hotlinks were a no go for me . The chopped beef was tender but lacked seasoning . The greens were ok . Sweet potatoes were good . Mac and cheese just alright and cabbage not seasoned enough . If you’re a germaphobe this isn’t the place for you . Hospitality was fantastic !

On a massive road trip from ATX to Buffalo, and I followed the guidance of a "Road Food" book that sent me here.

I'm so glad I stopped in.

While I'm possibly the whitest person who's ever frequented SGB, everyone was friendly, and I had a bit of banter with the staff "what's good?"... "everything's good!".

I got the bbq beef sandwich, which was basically a huge pile of beef, drowned in sweet and tangy barbecue cause, on top of some plain sliced white bread. I scarfed it in minutes.

Had corn bread and collard greens on the side and both were delicious.

The revelation though, I added a lemon pie for the road, which I ate once I pulled into Little Rock. YUM YUM YUM! Too good.

This place feels like history. Not a microgram of pretence. Just good people selling good food. At the price point, 10/10.
