This breakfast spot was amazing! We started with the praline bacon, which was sweet and salty, but I wish it was a bit crispier. My friend got the chicken and biscuits, and it was so flavorful and delicious. The gravy had the perfect amount of spice. I ordered the pulled pork Benedict, and it was delicious! But my two poached eggs were served at different temperatures, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when I order Benedict’s at restaurants!

By the way, you can park in the structure attached to the building and get parking validation from the restaurant or Whole Foods across the street. That’s a great way to save some money!

Excellent food. Great drinks. No wonder it gets busy here. Showing up when they open is helpful. We got a table no problem. The spices in the waffle and Chicken were delicious, add more to take home. Highly recommend the mushroom appetizer too, and great cocktails. Definitely will be coming back. Some of the best fried chicken anywhere in Oregon!

One of the best breakfasts I've had this year. Everything was so fresh and had the true home style feel. The Cinnamon Rolls were to die for. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you want an excellent meal!

This places deserves all the stars. Justifiably packed but the line goes pretty quick and is worth whatever the wait may be. Staff is super kind w/ all around good vibes. Chicken and waffles are top notch, crispy chicken that wasn’t greasy, and a perfectly sweet waffle to compliment the flavor. The gravy on the chicken and biscuits is outrageous. Couldn’t stop sneaking bites from husband’s plate. Blood orange mimosa was well balanced with sweetness and tartness.

Everything was perfect! For drinks, we had a bloody mary, strawberry lemonade, and a damn fine cup of coffee. For starters, we had an order of fried okra, a side of fried catfish with a side of horseradish comeback sauce, and a warm cinnamon roll! I had the shrimp and grits. My son had a chocolate chip waffle with whipped cream and a side of potatoes. My husband had the chicken and biscuits. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was amazing from beginning to end. The restaurant was cute and clean. It was busy, but our quoted 20-minute wait was only about 15 minutes. Everything was very efficient and organized. Definitely a well ran establishment.

We were visiting from Canada, and I want to come back to Portland just for this breakfast. We ordered the Praline Bacon to start, which was delicious. Sweet and salty with a little kick of heat to tingle the tongue. For our mains, we got the Cajun Scramble, Chicken & Waffles, and a side of Country Pork Sausage Gravy. The scramble was fantastic! Loaded with cheese, delicious andouille, and peppers and onions. The Chicken and Waffles were excellent; the chicken was moist with a well-seasoned batter, and the waffle had great texture and flavor. The Country Pork Sausage Gravy was delicious! It was the best pork sausage gravy I had on my trip. The only thing I was let down by may have been the biscuit. It was good, but not my favorite. But overall, this meal was incredible. If I am ever back in Portland, I will definitely be coming back here.

We’ve been to this place twice while in Portland, and we’ve left feeling super happy each time. Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been absolutely delicious and savory. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and we always feel like we’re in good company. The chicken and waffles are a must-order, but you can’t go wrong with any choice on the menu.

I previously have been to the Screen Door many times before the pandemic and am pleased to see how consistent they’ve been over the years. This restaurant continues to be a Portland treat.

The chicken and waffles was delicious. The one piece is plenty for one person and a wonderful pairing with the sweet potato waffles.

Not featured is the perfectly crispy fried okra and hush puppies. The pepper jelly had a nice balance of sweet and a little kick of spice to accompany the hush puppies.

The staff was attentive and friendly. We had a great time and no issues getting a dinner reservation day of.
