We were exploring the town and, after walking for what seemed like miles (probably not but it was hot and we were getting hungry) this was the first place we found with food so, we walked in. We thought about leaving because, inside it looked rather upscale and we weren't dressed for that but hunger won out and we got a table.

It could have been our shorts and t-shirts or maybe because it was near Halloween and we were obviously not from the area (dirty tourist!) or maybe the service is always this way but we felt the servers were rather cold and slow considering they weren't that busy.

The setting is nice though I didn't really get that "historic" vibe that I found in their description when I looked them up on-line later. The decor and table settings make it appear somewhere between an upscale restaurant and fast-casual. The gift-shop type area at the front detracts from that upscale feel, though. It reminded me of an "artisan Cracker Barrel".

My wife ordered the Linguine Neri con le Vongole (squid ink pasta with clams). She said it was "okay" but a little bland. The bread that came with it was the best part. It was a crusty bread that had been charred on the grill.

I ordered the Grass-fed Beef burger. It, too was "okay". I just don't understand why so many chefs are afraid to season their meats. The "adirondack aged cheddar" was also rather bland. Putting all of this on a sweet brioche bun makes for a burger that tastes mostly of bread.

While the food wasn't bad, for the price, I would expect much better. Unless you're really hungry and on foot, like we were, I would give this one a pass.

I recently visited River Market Square Ice Cream and Café and decided to try their Cappuccino Kahlua. It was a delightful experience! The coffee had a rich, smooth flavor, perfectly balanced with the subtle sweetness of Kahlua. The frothy texture added a nice touch, making it an indulgent treat.

The café itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a cozy drink. If you’re a coffee lover looking for something unique, the Cappuccino Kahlua is definitely a worthy try. I’ll be back for more!

We slipped into RiverMarket at the end of a long day touring Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown. It was recommended by an employee at Lyndhurst.

Using GPS it was fairly straightforward to find. I did doubt some of the last turns because they were at the train station and seemed odd, but they were odd in that the roadway went over the railroad tracks. Not a big deal but good to know.

Parking was plentiful in the lot across the street and was free. Both good but know we were lucky on this point because it was a Sunday evening.

The restaurant was not busy and we had a great seat with a view of the spires of the Tappen Zee (Mario Cuomo) bridge.

Service was very good. Quick and thoughtful. Food was excellent, even for the vegetarian in our party. Desserts were different and very tasty!

Overall atmosphere was very welcoming.

There is a large outside seating area.

For the price point (and actually for any price) the food should be much better. I ordered the chicken dish and the chicken was incredibly over cooked with watery skin (see photo) and also you can see in the rice that there are old and new green beans, which means that it was old and they repurposed it (which it tasted like - see photo ). All this for $34. I can say that the staff was incredibly lovely and the atmosphere was nice. Maybe they have a new chef? I was there during lunch so perhaps they have a better chef at dinner. Who knows, but disappointed nonetheless.

Hello Everyone. If you looking for a family brunch or lunch this place is the one. Very family friendly and a quiet spot for a family lunch. The Burgers were a top notch in my opinion. It has the right temperature and the right combination of a good Burger. Pizza if you order it crispy will come perfect.

Great atmosphere and the BEST food. We enjoyed tuna tartare with quail egg and our group enjoyed chicken burgers, veggie burgers and the pork belly. Raspberry ale suggested by our server was delicious. A lot of parking. Highly recommend stopping in. They also have a market as well
