Heavenly place by the river, literally next to the water. Sunsets here are gorgeous especially sitting outdoors with late afternoon drinks and some food. The menu, however, left me disappointed, similar to pub food/cafe-style menu with extremely upscale and inflated prices . When your Caesar salad comes out in a very small portion but charging over $20+ for it, WITHOUT any meat, you have to wonder what you’re really paying for…. The view? There was no tablecloth on the outdoo table, just the iron table/chair, similar to what you’d find at the park. I expected better, at least, if you’re gonna be upscale about everything else. Nothing else on the menu looked appetizing enough, but the company at dinner was lovely, and that was more than enough for me. We were rushed out/kicked out of our table to honor their reservations. We overstayed our welcome. I’d come back for drinks alone and dine elsewhere.

We had an amazing lunch along the river. Had not been here for a few years and the food is still as good as I recall. Not cheap for lunch, but worth every penny!

After a long trip, having dinner with my family at Red Hat on the River was exactly what we needed. The views of the Hudson River from nearly every seat were stunning and really added to the relaxing vibe. The restaurant itself has such a cool, cozy feel, with its 100-year-old factory setting, vintage Parisian bistro touches, and WPA-era art on the walls. We loved the mix of classic dishes like steak frites, moules frites, and the Red Hat burger—everything was delicious! The seasonal salads and seafood were also a hit. Plus, their creative cocktails and old-world wines were the perfect way to unwind.

Sparkling & shimmering Sunset dining experience (In or Outside), as evening light danced off Hudson River. Enjoy a delicious meal.

Great food, options for several diets, excellent burgers (good meat)
& french fries, refreshing beet salad & mixed greens (combination delectable), ended with crab cakes.
Super yummy!

Good vines!
Good mixed drinks!
Good music with festive vibes.

Great place for celebrations (intimate & family) & friendly get together.

Only Knock is restaurant takes some hunting from parking lot, no clear signage. Could be improved, but just keep walking 12 o'clock between buildings across from parking lot, you'll see.

Irvington train stop, Metro North from New York City. Bonus!

Underwhelming- the only thing I asked for was an authentic Caesar dressing on the salad and it was far from it. I understand this place is French but I specifically inquired about it. I had it with the steak. The drinks were unimaginative and the decor was dated. I did come in the evening in the winter. I’m sure the spirits are better in the summer. Will try again but not for dinner service as the food was nothing to write home about. The seasoning wasn’t there. I am a trained professional chef and was underwhelmed by the whole experience. I will say the servers did try their best. Another over rated mediocre eatery in Westchester. Sigh.

Went here on a cold November Monday and was very pleased with my experience!

Food was amazing. Highly recommend the Artichoke and spinach dip, Red hat burger, and the butternut squash curry. Their zero proof (non alcoholic drinks) were also great.

They even wished my significant other a happy birthday. Wasn't too packed on Monday when they opened up but I suggest you make a reservation during their weekend hours.

From service, staff, ambience and the food - everything was AMAZING. Highly recommended!

I tend to be hyper-critical of restaurants, but Red Hat really impressed me. The appetizer greens and vinaigrette was airy & cool and crisp. I have been eating Steak Au Poivre for almost 50 years - it’s a real favorite & The 16 oz. Ribeye at Red Hat was hands down the best I’ve ever had. A gorgeous , tender cut of meat and a perfectly balanced au poivre was just perfect. The HUGE Frites in a paper cone were also magnificent.
For dessert a cappuccino and a ricotta cake with lemon zest was light and rich and wondrous. Service was a tiny bit slow but this place was full by 6:00 pm. I’d give Red Hat 10 stars if I could….
