I recently ate at Omars taco bar/restaurant, and the experience was disappointing. The food was underwhelming—I ordered cowboy dip and chicken wings, but the wings seemed prepackaged and refried, and the hamburger meat in the dip tasted old. Honestly, it felt like something I could have made better at home.

To make matters worse, the bathroom was a disaster. It was dusty, trashy, and looked like a gas station restroom that hadn’t been cleaned in a week. There was water on the floor, and the overall state was unacceptable. In my experience, you can usually gauge the quality of a restaurant by the cleanliness of its bathroom, and this one didn’t leave a good impression. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the food or the environment.

Food was great. Service was good. Would highly recommend to go and eat. They have a green sauce for dipping that is delicious as well. Good flavor and good amount of spice. I had steak fajita nachos that were really good.

This place is awesome! The green sauce is super tasty and the red sauce is very flavorful. The salmon a la plancha was incredible. The salmon was juicy and the vegetables had great flavor. The staff was fast and very friendly. We didnt have to ask for anything, they just knew to bring refills and the check. Definitely recommend this place

We were looking for a bite to eat and were having a hard time finding a place because it was Easter. The restaurant was almost half full and we decided to give this place a try, even though I was breaking my rule of “Don’t eat at a Mexican restaurant unless it has a 100% Hispanic name.”

The staff were nice and friendly. We got our drinks and made our order. The chips and salsas arrived. The larger bowl of red salsa tasted odd, as if one of the ingredients went bad. We stuck to the smaller green salsa, which was good.

We waited 20-25 minutes for our food, which seemed like a long time. I’m not sure if there were manpower issues in the kitchen or not. My partner’s food was partially made with what appeared to be the red salsa that tasted funny, so it was not eaten. The eggs, beans and potatoes were just ok.

If I were to return, I would try some of the lunch or dinner items.

Nothing and I mean, nothing... has ever been bad! The food is excellent!! The waitresses are very attentive, even, the chip server... we are very frequent visitors. Love the margaritas and love Omar's!

The food was really good, I highly recommend this place. The Chilaquiles Verdes were very flavorful. The spice was right on point. Lengua tacos were not greasy at all. They were delicious. We also had Pozole, and it was also good. They were very generous on the meat, the broth flavorful and tast good. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant looks really nice.

Man I came down from Dallas because some friends invited me and I have to say this my new favorite spot. The food, service and atmosphere is A1 here. Will fosho keep coming here and a special thanks to my waiter Leslie who just provided the best service and made it an unforgettable experience.

Omar’s in Waxahachie is our go-to spot for incredible Mexican food, cold beers, and fantastic cocktails. Owned and operated by Omar and his family, this restaurant is not only beautiful inside, but it also offers a warm seat at its stunning bar.

We eat at Omar's at least twice a week because the food is just that amazing. They serve menudo daily, and my youngest son is addicted to it. Pro tip: order it Felixican style (with an over-medium egg on top). Trust me, you won't regret it.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The tortillas are made fresh in-house, and the ingredients are always top-notch. The birria tacos are to die for, the ceviche is out of this world, and there are three salsas to choose from. Be sure to ask for the hot green salsa—it’s their secret special reserve.

Now, let's talk drinks. Omar's has cold draft beer, margaritas (frozen or on the rocks), micheladas, ranch waters, and Palomas that transport you to the beach with the first sip. The staff and bartenders are phenomenal—they can make any cocktail or drink you can think of, and it will always be the best. This bar really knows how to do it right.

Omar himself is the best host you’ll ever meet. He makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in, greeting everyone and ensuring everyone is having a great time. He’s the most popular guy in Waxahachie for a reason—he knows everyone, and everyone knows Omar.

Omar’s is the perfect place to take the family for a great meal, catch a game or a fight on one of their many TVs, or celebrate any occasion. For birthdays and special celebrations, Omar’s goes all out with lights, sparklers, music, a custom plaque announcement, a dancing LED robot guy, and plenty of dancing and singing.

If you haven’t been to Omar’s yet, you’re missing out on a Waxahachie staple and a true gem. Keep up the fantastic work, Omar!

PS: Rumor has it that another location is opening soon right off the square in downtown Waxahachie. We can’t wait!
