I want to love this place so much! Over the years it has become more run down and un kept and dirty. I understand it's historic, but It's loosing it's old Florida charm. The food is usually ok or pretty good. The Cuban is the best thing there I think. The menu is very limited. The coffees and lattes were not worth the try, the taste was not good at all. The pies were pretty good. Place needs a good cleaning. Service is pretty good.

Decided to go to Micanopy for lunch. Picked Old Florida Cafe. Granddad was the cook. The service was friendly and personable. Unique place. But that's Micanopy. We ate outside. Food was good. Service great. Stop by here and check this place out. We'll be back. Also met new dog "Sushi".

Years ago we stopped at Old Florida Cafe (that we had kind of found by accident in the first place looking for a gas station) when we traveled from Tennessee to Orlando. I don't remember the exact sandwich we got, but whatever it was was delicious and whatever desert we got was, too, as well as their black beans and rice. So this became a tradition each year to stop here and something we always looked forward to. One year we got there just after they had closed and I was so disappointed that I just busted out crying, and one of the owners or family saw me crying and my very patient husband explained what was going on, and this sweet guy went back in and made me my special sandwich and was so nice and kind. Micanopy and Old Florida Cafe have ever since had a very special place in our hearts.

Enjoyed stopping here for a latte and espresso today. We did not eat the food here. Drinks were fairly priced and.staff was friendly. The front of shop had a nice outdoor seating under the mossy oak treas. Loved the big antique buildings as well.

Excellent black beans and rice but they were out of pork and pastrami for the Reuben. The key lime pie was soooo good, as was the Cuban coffee. All in all it was a great experience.

We had passed signs for Micanopy on our travels around Florida and decided to stop in and go to the Old Florida Cafe. It was so relaxing after driving for a while. The town is beautiful and the restaurant is a great place to eat. They have sandwiches and comfort food, along with fresh brewed coffees and homemade desserts. Everyone is very friendly and the prices are fair.

A wonderful lunch experience on a beautiful Saturday. We enjoyed the Cuban sandwich and the Reuben Sandwich with delicious banana pudding. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted with outdoor patio seating. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. We definitely plan to return.

2 sandwiches with no sides, 2 ice teas, and 2 slices of key lime pie cost just under $40. That did not include the tip. The ladies running the tiny kitchen were pleasant but the food was bland and over-priced. Not many options in this tiny historic town.
