Nalan Indian Cuisine in Downingtown is a fantastic local spot for Indian food. We tried several different dishes, and each one was delicious. The flavors were authentic, and the quality of the food was impressive. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended if you're looking for great Indian cuisine in the area!

A pretty good Indian restaurant with good service.

The place is clean and has a call atmosphere.

The food is good, though I felt it missed perfect marks just by a bit. But the moong dal halwa was perfection, just the best .

The staff were very courteous and helpful.

P.S They sometimes have a robot/vehicle which delivers food. Mainly used to send and keep the takeout orders by the door

This is the best Indian restaurant in the greater West Chester area. Everything was fresh and delicious. Goat and lamb were tender. Bread is fresh and made to order. Garlic and cheese are two favorites.

Disappointing to say the least ! I honestly went there based on reviews.
I wonder what has been good. Their mothers day buffet was a rip off and in a very sly way. Only buffet option and nothing was mentioned outside or on their site. I guess they knew it was overpriced and below avg quality.
That was the last time i would go or recommend.
It's sad when they are running the buffet to make more money than provide more value to the customer.
You can see most of the items were not being refilled and things like salad seem really sad from earlier in the day that was never refilled. The food was very oily.
Hope others have had a better experience in their a la carte menu. It felt odd to walk away after we walked in sat. Down to realize it's only buffet.

First time trying the Veg thali here and absolutely loved it. All the items were perfect but the only feedback is with the pickle served. Everything was South Indian and the pickle didn’t go well with the thali. Also, loved the filter coffee!

PS: I came just before closing and the service was still good, staff were friendly.

09/14/2024- Revisited after long time. This place didnt improve at all but the it got much busier than usual. I picked up Garlic Naan, Paneer Butter Masala, some Chettinad Paneer. As I was late from day trip, I was dead tired to check out other options. I had to wait there also. The food taste was really bad! Too much raw garlic in Naan, too much spices in Paneer gravy. We all got stomach upset and gas! Avoid this place if you have a choice. I will do so in future. Food is expensive too expect to spend $20+ per person.

The thing with Desi restaurants is, they never learn, improve and they don’t care about the reviews as well!

Average place. Just like any other Indian restaurant. It was tough to find this restaurant as the signboard was faded. They have invested so much on impractical decors like fancy crockeries but forgot to print a decent menu?. The plates are so small that I was literally struggling to have the food.
Coming to the food…
We ordered chicken tandoori which was some gravy based preparation. It was not at all chicken tandoori. Then we ordered chicken buttermasala, chicken soup, naan, madras pepper chicken. Check out the pictures.
So the chicken buttermasala was good. Soup had bones in it ?.
Not enough motivated to back again.
