My compliments to the kitchen on this one! Everything I had was beyond perfection for me. The shrimp for starters was exquisite. You can't stop eating the bread with the sauce. You want more. The mushroom arugula was super fresh scrumptious! The salmon complimented it perfectly. Oh those mushrooms.. Had to end it with the vanilla bean creme brulee. So rich! It was super hard for me not to put my finger in the glass jar to get the rest. Great service all around! God bless ?✌?

We had a beautiful dinner at Max’s. We both ordered specials - Halibut and Ribeye. We split a wedge salad. The service was nice, very attentive, but not bothersome. I love beautiful art at Max’s.

First visit to the USA, and this place was our first taste of their food. Outstanding menu, all cooked with fresh ingredients. A lovely combination of Mexican and traditional cuisine. Excellent staff who were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended

Wonderful service - welcoming, friendly, efficient

Ambiance - beautiful and classy, paintings on the walls, clean

Food - we started with calamari, which was great, fresh, and crisp. I had the kobe meatloaf, which many reviewers seemed to like. For me, the meatloaf was good but a little underwhelming in terms of flavor. For dessert, we had the toffee bread pudding, which was truly fantastic.

I am interested to go back and try other dishes.

I called at 4:10 on Sunday and wanted a 5 pm reservation for 4. Hostess said they were booked until 9 pm but we could come at 4:30 . I said ok. Restaurant was basically empty. Left at 6 pm and restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. If we hadn’t come you would have lost a $200 + tab. When you were not booked at all. Maybe hostess needs to be re trained so you won’t lose business. Food was excellent as always.

My 1st time visiting Fresno & I searched Google for somewhere to dine before my flight. Don't let the exterior fool you; this place is fabulous! The food was delicious and the service was 5 star!! I had the fresh corn risotto and it was absolutely delicious! I will be sure to dine again when I return in the spring. Thank you for great service! I believe my waitress was Jenny (if I forgot her name please forgive me!) I had THREE Upper Manhattan thanks to her recommendation and I was one happy lady!

There's a reason this restaurant is so highly regarded. I've only had the best dining experiences there. From their wine selection to seasonal specials, it's on my short list of must try restaurants in Fresno. Their hospitality is next to very few.

While in town, we were trying to figure out where to go as a couple for my birthday. The reason we chose Max's was because they were open later than most restaurants in the area. We were so glad we made this awesome choice.

The atmosphere was amazing. It was the perfect venue for a romantic dinner for two, a semi-large group or just hanging out in the bar area with friends. That, coupled with the friendliness of the staff, made for an awesome experience.

Let's talk about the food. Mouth-watering ? wonderfully prepared .... I can't say enough about the scrumptious ? taste.

The Topper: i was offered any dessert item from the menu free for my birthday! So cool ? and glorious!!
