I had booked this for my husbands birthday as a surprise and honestly I was really embarrassed by the time we left. I booked specifically because they told us over the phone they could provide halal options. It wasn’t until food arrived and we asked why we were given vegetarian that they said that was the halal option (very much not the same thing). I have had some brilliant vegetarian afternoon teas before but this tasted like a hollowed out second best option where only half the effort had been put in to vege options. The whole stand had clearly been sitting for hours in the fridge and still had some cling attached. The price was not low - at over £60 it was honestly pretty shocking.

Staff were more interested in chatting with eachother than anything else. They seemed annoyed every time we asked for assistance. Particularly the gentleman in the suit who when I asked what was in something, turned and walked away without saying anything then came back and dumped a list of dishes and their ingredients/allergens in front of me (I was asking out of interest to try and brighten the experience since he seemed intent on making it miserable).

All in all I couldn’t have been more disappointed with the whole experience.

Tasty breakfast, friendly staff, attentive service. Not the widest breakfast selection but everything looked good.

It’s in the hotel but they take walk-ins for breakfast.

Food was delicious. Service could have been better from the male waiter who slammed everything down on the table. There was a service charge added to a table of 3 which was a bit cheeky when the first course is self services.

We have been here before and was very good. This time it was extremely poor. The food was just ok, the wine was extremely poor and the service was dreadful. The staff will ask " is everything ok?" But you answer "no" it's completely ignored!! Very pretentious, everyone goes through the motions. if you question the environment and service it's completely overlooked. why ask if your can't fix the issue? On the bright side the bar staff are some of the best I've ever encountered.

Was so disappointed with the quality of the food. The starter was tasty enough but not a lot on the plate. Main was pork belly but all I got was a plate of FAT very little meat. The spring greens was a small plate of shredded cabbage. I had the trifle the jelly at the bottom of the dish was solid. I complained to the manager before I left the restaurant but he didn't seem interested and didn't even offer an appology. Won't be recommending this venue as a place to experienced quality food. Date of my meal 14/9/2019

Châteaubriand was excellent, chips excellent and calamari starter of same standard. Service fantastic and nice surroundings. House red was of a good standard, so all in all a lovely experience. My colleagues are in agreement with these comments.

Way overpriced for average food and small portions.....And the ridiculous bar inside the restaurant with obnoxious & screaming customers was particularly annoying. And I mean inside......not next to the restaurant......So fun to try to share a meal with a bunch of loud people in a bar-brilliant idea there...... Never again.
