I met a friend for a dinner date at Leche de Tigre, a food stall at The Wash. As a fan of Latin foods, I was excited to try this highly-rated spot, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.

Street parking was a bit challenging due to the narrow streets, but we eventually made it inside. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and took our number to one of the outdoor tables. The food arrived quickly, but I was disappointed with the quality. The meat was tough and overly salty, and the rice was undercooked and hard. I tried to eat the rice but just couldn’t get through it.

While other menu items might be better, I’m not sure I’ll be returning.

In the past 3 years, I have visited Peru almost a dozen times, and my favorite dish to eat is lomo saltado when I am in the country. In my quest to find that dish in Nashville, I decided to give this place a try. I really wanted to like the meal, but this just wasn't it. It was VERY basic without any flavor. I always look forward to the juice to stir in my rice, and the juice didn't have any flavor, almost like warm water. The beef was overcooked, and the fries were all soaked with this flavorless juice, making the meal even more undesirable. Unfortunately, I ended up trashing what was pictured in my review. I may give them another try and order something different in the future because they have great reviews from others.

Need a lot to clean you can see on the photos the place is not a good place to eat.
And is not a parking.
You have to fight a lot with flies.

Liche Tigre in Nashville proved to be an outstanding dining destination, making it my second memorable experience within the well-regarded restaurant building. The unique feature of exclusively offering outdoor seating added to the charm of the place. Despite being an outdoor setup, the restaurant provides a seamless dining experience with table service following your order at the window.

The standout dish, the Civiche Amerrillo, left a lasting impression with its amazing freshness and bold flavors. The commitment to quality continued with the Lomo Saltado, which was equally excellent, showcasing a mastery of flavors and culinary skill. Exploring the taco options, all three were commendable, with the steak taco standing out as a personal favorite.

The service, possibly by the owner, added a personal touch to the experience, elevating it beyond a typical dining outing. The overall experience at Liche Tigre was excellent, marked by exceptional dishes, attentive service, and a unique outdoor setting. For those seeking a culinary adventure in Nashville, Liche Tigre stands out as a must-try, delivering a memorable and delightful dining experience.

My favorite is the fried rice. I’ve tried all three and they all are delicious especially the seafood fried rice with all their seafood inside of the fried rice. It’s hard to find fresh authentic fried rice so this my go to choice when I’m craving fried rice. Their fried rice is authentic and fresh tasting. One order is a good generous size. Service was friendly. My only complaint is the parking.

I really enjoyed my Lomo saltado. I've visited 8 Peruvian restaurants from Maryland to Tennessee, and here is the best Lomo Saltado. My Fiancé had Chaufa and Leche de Tigre. I was surprised by the Leche, it will perk you up. The atmosphere was great, outside dining amongst several other restaurants at The Wash.

So excited to try this place out based on what we read online, and pleasantly surprised to hear of authentic Peruvian food in Nashville. However, the young man taking orders around 6pm on Sunday 8/18 had a terrible attitude. When asking about what came in certain menu items (trying to avoid allergy issues), his response was constantly a rude, laconic, and sullen "It's on the menu". Very disappointed and the restaurant didn't deserve a penny of my money that day. We had Vietnamese instead at a restaurant a few bays down, which was a great experience. Really hate that the employee's attitude was so unpleasant as I was looking forward to eating there. Hopefully they'll do better in the future.
