They have great service and the food came out quick . They did have a specials menu and the braised lamb shanks with risotto was good , though it's not authentic Cuban , the risotto on its own was a dish . The portions are also a good amount to share for 2 people if you don't eat much . I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for delicious food .

Let me tell you—this fried snapper was out of this world. Every bite was packed with flavor, seasoned to perfection. They take the extra step here: first, they cut out the chunks, season, and fry them up separately, so you’re getting these crispy, juicy pieces right off the bat. Then, they fry the rest of the fish on its own, which brings this incredible texture and flavor all around.

And the sides? Spot on. The tostones with guacamole were the perfect match, adding that creamy, savory balance to each bite of snapper. It’s rare to get a dish that feels this thought-out and executed so well. Definitely one for the books!

Stopped for a mid afternoon lunch. It was delicious! Tamale was outstanding. Wow. My son had the lamb shank special and it was incredible. My daughter had shrimp with garlic and I had chicken with garlic. They were delicious but the protein portion was a little small. Husband had fried pork. It was a wonderful meal all around and we'd return! Service from Yoel was outstanding.

This is my favorite place for croquetas in Miami. On this visit, EVERYTHING went better than expected! We came in so hungry and left so satisfied—from the seating arrangement to the appetizers to the main course, not to mention they surprised the lady next to us with a very fervent and fun Happy Birthday song that the entire restaurant joined in to celebrate her as well!

We started with both ham and chicken croquettes, followed by a bowl of chicken soup and caldo gallego (flavorful & creamy white bean and sausage soup). We then shared a plate of boniato relleno de tasajo (Cuban sweet potatoes stuffed with jerked beef) with white rice and fufu de plátano (tasty mashed green and ripe plantains).

Our server was attentive and pleasant. She gave us room to talk but checked on us periodically. I took my dessert: tres leches to go and will definitely go back soon if I can!

Once upon a time, I frequented this Islas Canarias facility along with my family and enjoyed excellent ham, chicken, and fish croquetas with great taste and seasoning.

Today, I was in the neighborhood and stopped by after nearly three years (the restaurant is about 11 miles from my house) to buy 4 ham, 4 chicken, and 4 fish croquetas to take home.

Unfortunately, their quality has taken a deep dive and the croquetas were very salty as if the restaurant was trying to fire up their taste by masking them with salt for the lack or low quality of batter ingredients.

I was only able to eat 3, and the rest ended up in my kitchen trash. My wife also took a bite of one, and the rest of it ended in the trash as well.

In my book, the croquetas from Islas Canarias are no longer what they once were. In my opinion, their croqueta quality is no longer there.

This only reflects a review about the croquetas and not any other cuisine specialties the restaurant offers its customers.

Incredible. My family has been picking up croquetas from this place for years and it’s always been good. Today I had the pleasure of actually dining in and it was wonderful. Fast, and kind service. I got the croqueta preparada and it was stacked with delicious ham and perfectly balanced with one of their signature croquetas. Also ended up getting a choripan which was INCREDIBLE. I’ve never had one of these before but the flavor was deliciously savory and buttery. A great amount of food for the price. My croqueta preparada was about 11 dollars and I still had half of it to take home after eating my fill. Stop by if you get the chance and enjoy the delicious food.

Haven’t been here since I was a little girl. I was born and raised in little Havana and I used to go to the original on 27th Ave but it closed down. I always remembered they had three BEST croquetas. Came here today and man they still have the best croquetas just wow. ? so delicious and flavorful! The place is so nicely decorated, very typical Cuban spot and also have a bakery where you can pick up the typical colada and pan cubano. Tried the Cubano especial and it was really good, also ordered the pan con bistec and I have to say not my favorite. The steak was not seasoned and a bit thick for a steak sandwich. It’s okay but not the best le falta sazón for sure. Other than that good place, need to try their other food. Will recommend to you all to try especially their croquetas!
