A nice restaurant with decent food. Never had any tapas dishes I didn't enjoy. There's gluten-free options, which are coeliac safe. The bartenders are really lovely, and went above and beyond to make a special birthday cake "jar" at Christmas - very kind and creative!

What a superb restaurant on the Moffat main street. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, with an excellent Scottish inspired tapas selection. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with nice comfy seating.
Well worth a visit !!

The reviews are true...this is indeed a gem. We had a stopover lunch driving towards Edinburgh and we were delighted.

Too hungry so we didn't take any photos. Had Soup (chicken and rice) and Hot Pot (leek and onion), I want them again!

Pretty village (Moffot) to stopover.

We stopped in to Hugo’s for lunch and had such great food. We hadn’t booked but were able to get a table despite it being busy.

The three of us had the halloumi and chutney focaccia and it was so good! There was lots of halloumi on the sandwich (which is not common) in lots of other restaurants. We also shared some skinny fries which were nice too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Only intended on having a beer outside, which was good btw.Then we saw someone’s Tapas being served to a couple on the balcony. Decided to give it a go inside the restaurant as we love Tapas & we weren’t disappointed. Ordered 3 choices …Harissa lamb meatballs, haddock goujons & cooked goat’s cheese & beetroot plus a side of hand cut chips. Plenty for 2, each dish delicious. Liked it so much that we’re going again before our holiday is over!
Proper genuinely friendly, helpful team run the restaurant, which adds to the dining experience. Definitely recommend ?

Really enjoyed our coffees, breakfast roll and very delicious warmed cheese scone. Dog friendly and efficient smiley service and great background music as a bonus! The rest of the menu looked excellent too and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are near.

Omg what an amazing night at Hugo,s the bar staff and food were incredible cannot praise them enough. Ambience 100%, staff 150%, food incredible and to the bar bar staff who were especially Campbell who was the best xx

Visited Hugo's yesterday as part of a very large funeral wake. The staff were brilliant in coping with everything in great humour.

Later on, needing something solid in our stomachs, we ordered five of their tapas dishes, which is about spot on quantity wise for a couple. The seafood chowder (not pictured) was packed with fish and tasted excellent. Salt and pepper squid was crispy and tender. The pork belly was simply brilliant with superb, crisp crackling and melt in the mouth meat. I forget the name of the beef dish, but that too was tender rich and creamy. Big hunks of fresh moist bread were spot on for mopping up.

Wine list was short, but will chosen. I enjoyed more than my fair share of the Negromaro.

I look forward to revisiting under more normal circumstances. Highly recommended.
