My husband and I ate here after a show at the McNeil Theater. It was an easy walk. The atmosphere was nice, not too casual but not too pretentious. I was blown away by our server Elizabeth C. I think she introduced herself as Catalina. She was attentive despite having numerous tables. She gave excellent recommendations, and she was simply a joy. She made us feel like welcomed guests of honor and family at the same time. The salad, fried rice, and broccoli were very good. The bone-in ribeye was equally delicious, but by far not the best I’ve had. I’m looking forward to my next visit. This will be my after show dinner spot.

The service was pleasant. The waiter was very informative and engaging. Scalion pancakes are super delicious. It's very intriguing. That the shrimp fried rice was served in a bucket with a big spoon. This establishment is very clean.Even the lady's restroom.Nice smelling. Recommend this location.

I had a great dinner at Brooklyn Chophouse. At first, I was apprehensive, but the menu is extensive, with many different options to choose from. I also liked that many of the sides are served in sharing portions, so we were able to sample each other’s dishes. Our server, Eddie, was friendly and patient with all our questions since it was our first time there. Thanks, Eddie

I traveled to NY for business and personal reasons this weekend and heard so many great things about BCH. Before I went to Long Island, I had dinner reservations with my sister and BCH did not disappoint.

The service from inception was remarkable. The hostess, waitress, server and GM were very attentive.

Food delicious! I wish my stomach had more room because I would have tried everything on the menu.

I will be back.

Cocktails and dumplings were good and served promptly.

For our main course, the Salt and Pepper Lobster was very disappointing. Firstly, it was fried (which is not indicated on the menu). It was unseasoned (neither salt NOR pepper evident) and it was very overcooked and rubbery. The “7-pound” Peking Duck is pictured - it seems that all of it was not served to us. Duck is usually rendered/sliced table side - this one was not. What duck we did get was cooked properly and tasty. What few pancakes brought to the table were all stuck together. The NY strip steak was good, if unremarkable.

The service was overall good - the initial duck order was bungled by the staff, but was quickly corrected by the kitchen.

We were seated on an enclosed rooftop patio, that was decorated to resemble a Midwest VFW social hall (vinyl booths, plastic plants and green outdoor carpet) - nothing special to be sure.

Admittedly, we came to the Chop House with high expectations of a very good pre-theater dinner. What we got was not worth the cost.

*UPDATE: The website and menu indicate an automatic gratuity of 20% on parties of 6 or more. We as a party of 3 were presented with an automatic 18% gratuity (which was not advertised) - knocking a star off of the Service score.**

We are foodies that work in the restaurant business, and had been looking forward to this meal. Out the door with a $406 tab - and disappointment.

Ok. Let’s start with the good. Host at front desk, she was so nice and greeted us as if she knew us! The ambience is really nice. It’s definitely a vibe in there, numerous star spotting while I was there with my party of 6; Instagram worthy, If that’s what you’re looking for… However, if you’re looking for good service and food to match the price, this is not the place for you. I don’t know about you, but I’m the type of person that will drop money on good food, I don’t care the price if the food is good and the service is better I’m here for it, at any price level. The food was not worth the price. The dumplings were a mess, run of the mill frozen dumplings from Trader Joes . We ordered probably five different varieties and two of the five were “good”; one was edible two were is downright nasty. Nothing that made your mouth water. The 4 lbs lobster, tasted like lobster sauce from your local let’s say “higher end” chinese restaurant, Nothing that would’ve cost you $160. The chicken satay tasted like it was soaked in water as seasoning and then with a peanut glazed. Everyone at the table said it tasted like nothing. The young lady who ordered it said it was her favorite from here and this is not how she was used to it tasting. My daughter and her friend had the Ville in the lamb chops they seem to enjoy that. The crab meat fried rice was good, although they just dumped crabmeat on top with no flavor, no nothing-Just imagining open a can of crab meat, dumping it on top of your rice, that is what we received; The rice was tasty But not my idea of crab meat, fried rice. My drink Lychee Froze , was phenomenal best thing I had there; we had about $250 worth of drinks and they were really the star of the show! But really what made the night, was at the end, informed our waiter that one guest in our party was celebrating a birthday. It felt as if he was annoyed we weren’t ready to go or maybe he was just frustrated with something not to do with us, but the waiter felt the need to inform us that it was going to be $18 for the the slice, as if we would have a problem with an $18 slice when we were spending about $1000 at this point in the restaurant thus far. About 20 min later( in my sponge bob voice), yes 20 min later he brought the cake, dropped it on the table and walked alway; we thought he was going to start singing happy birthday song. He literally dropped the cake in front of her and walked away. We all sat there looking at each other, Once we realized he was not coming back and we were on our own; we sung happy birthday; we opted for the red velvet as that and chocolate was the only option. We didn’t enjoy it because it had confetti sprinkles on it the type the you put on a child’s ice cream cone. Again, that was what the six people at the table thought none of us enjoyed it, we brought that to the attention of the waiter and he just said yeah that’s how they do . We thought maybe he would say did you want to try the chocolate cake, nope; crickets. But the whole experience of him, dropping the cake and walking away just really tanked the already lacklustered experience. I actually wasn’t even going to post my comments on the food here until the cake incident. Because food is subjective what I may not like one person may love. I tend to be horrible experiences not whether I like the food or not. It has to be something else to accompany the bad food that would make me post. All, but one of the guests had never been here before; her brother is in the music industry and they come often so she touted this place to us, and it was on all of the other guests’ to do list; I have no reason to come back; if and when she invites me again,I will sit that one out.
