We are actually cancelling our reservation at another restaurant so I can have the Scottish salmon here one more time before we fly home. This place was so amazing from start to finish. The host at the front literally ran outside without a coat while it’s below freezing and SNOWING to get the parking number for us. Our waitress was very kind and also recommended the Scottish salmon. Literally the best salmon I have ever eaten. My husband had the calamari and tomato soup/bisque which was delicious and rich and it came with delicious focaccia bread. You will need to make a reservation in advance and I can see why, it is definitely worth the wait!!

My friend & I, along w/ my service animal, were refused entry into the Blue River Bistro by the Hostess, Anna, on 8/14/24. Anna, said "it is against their policy to allow dogs inside." We kindly explained that my dog is a service animal (which is considered medical equipment in the eyes of the law, and is allowed to accompany me anywhere I go according to Federal ADA Laws), but the Hostess, Anna, still refused to allow us entry inside the restaurant. She just kept repeating to us that "it is against their policy to allow dogs inside." Reasonable accommodations were denied. Instead, the Hostess, Anna, rudely insisted on seating us outside. Shortly afterwards, right after our food arrived, it began raining outside on us at the table. Employees immediately began taking the umbrellas down off the tables outside. And of course, we got wet. Our server was Lucy (she was nice and I believe unaware of the situation). I tried calling the restaurant a couple weeks ago because I wanted to share my experience with management in hopes it doesn't happen again to anyone else, but I was unsuccessful at getting through. No one answers the phone when I've called. Thus, I'm leaving this review in hopes that the right people see it and kindly educates them about the disabled w/ service animals. Thank you very much!

A Thursday night, during off-season. A birthday dinner. A card, signed by the staff, is waiting at the booth where we sat! How's that for an opening! Great staff, atmosphere, and food! Started with the Honey+Cashew Brie! Excellent!
My wife had the Bison Short ribs, and I had the Mountain River elk rack! Both outstanding and cooked perfectly! Highly recommend going here during off-season. Not crowded, and I got a birthday ice cream dish...no singing! Big selection of wines, whiskeys, scotch, bourbon, beer!

We tried this restaurant for an early dinner, we were seated quickly and service was good. They got really busy around 7PM. We tried a couple of starters, fries and beers, everything was good. Desserts, the tiramisu was good, the other cheesecake was okay.

We took a little day trip to Breckenridge and decided to stop at Blue River Bistro for a quick bite. We arrived around 12:30, and although the outdoor tables were full, we were seated right away indoors at a cozy corner table by the window. We weren't too hungry, just in the mood for a snack and a cocktail. The Artichoke & Spinach Dip and Baked Brie caught our eye, and we couldn’t resist ordering them. To drink, I chose the Rocky Mountain Columbine cocktail, which was wonderfully refreshing with its blend of elderflower, vodka, and grapefruit. Our server was prompt, friendly, and made sure to tell us about the daily specials before taking our order. The appetizers were delicious and hit the spot perfectly. We enjoyed our experience so much that we ordered another round of cocktails, including a non-alcoholic Deep Roots. Overall, it was a great visit, and next time we’ll definitely bring our appetites!

Amazing food! Parking in front. You gotta get the Paella! Made with Bomba rice, mussels, chicken and shrimp! Made to perfection even with the crispy bottom. Served in a hot pan! The bruschetta is delicious and highly recommended. Service is very fast, friendly and professional!
UPDATE: Paella is no longer on the menu, they say it's seasonal. We did order the rice bowls, 4 of them, $160 bucks! Some crazy black rice veggie combo that charges for the protein added. We didn't see that in the menu only when we saw the bill! None of us ate more than a couple bites because the flavor is horrible. They took a simple concept of a rice bowl tried to make it overly fancy and ruined it. Pics show they look great but flavor not so much! Also, my wife had to use the menu to kill 3 flies on our table. 5 more were on the window beside us. They keep the front door open which sounds great but reality is it let's bugs in. The waitress spilled my tea while pouring it and never came back to clean it up. 45 minutes to make 4 rice bowls. This place was mostly empty. Sadly it WAS a great restaurant months ago. This train slipped off its tracks. Sadly lowering the review and will not return.

Anna was our waitress and she was fantastic at getting our orders in so that the meals apps, entrees and dessert were lined up perfectly.
The food was amazing. The perfect bites for the middle of our bike ride.
The outdoor seating was wonderful. The fall leaves kept decorating our table.
The value of the happy hour 2 for 1 apps and martinis can't be beat!
The only disappointment is that this restaurant is not local to me.

The food and service were exceptional. Though the spot is definitely on the "pricier" side, it's honestly all well worth it and I'd absolutely go back. Everything we tried was fantastic and we tried a lot.
