I had the chicken fried chicken (with the gravy on the side) which was the crispiest and most tender chicken breast I think I’ve ever eaten. The coating was well seasoned and not at all greasy. My husband would say that it was a properly deep fried chicken breast. And while I didn’t really like the green beans, I ate them because I hate to waste food.

My son had the Reuben and fries and said the sandwich was very good and the fries were the best fries he’s ever had-and he’s 19 so he’s eaten a lot of fries! They were crispy and well-seasoned. Our server Angela was great as well. It was a little dark in the restaurant but I appreciated the holiday lights in the bathroom!

Visited for the first time with friends. We had the whitefish and fries, onion rings, and one friend had eggs Benedict. Food was amazing. Large portions. Really good fish! Fries were crispy and cooked perfectly. Onion rings were also just perfectly fried. And the Eggs Benedict were so delicious.

Tried this place for lunch takeout. Seems like a “fish and chip” place but I don’t like fish/chips unless you are in a Pub in Great Britain. Wait staff that greeted me was very nice. Soup and salad were the options. Salad was good but they had it packaged like it was being sent across the country. I put it all in a different container and mixed it up. Soup was not so great. I’ll come back and give the rest of the menu a go….

Great spot for families and large parties. Came here on a busy Sunday night over the 4th of July weekend and even amidst all that mayhem we were treated like gold. Some of the best comfort food in the area - highlights this time included the Chicken Fried Chicken, Seafood Pasta, and the Seafood Chowder. Drinks are strong and well priced, staff is friendly and efficient.

This is another restaurant that I've driven by for about 25 years and never stopped at. Finally, we stopped in there and had lunch and it turned out to be a great restaurant.

The food was excellent! We both ordered fish and chips and it was really good fish - everything was really good - the fish, fries and slaw. The service was great, our waitress was really friendly and the meal was served quickly. Plenty of parking.

For some reason I always thought this was a really fancy restaurant but when you go in there it's a very welcoming atmosphere and environment, very casual so no need to worry about dressing up.

I definitely recommend this restaurant and definitely will be going back.

We rode our bicycles up the NW State Trail from Petoskey. Glad we did! Stopped by the Northwood Family Restaurant for lunch. It was great! Northwood is a hidden gem right off the trail in Oden Mi. Watch for the blue building.

A very nice inside seating area, a bar, quality furnishings, clean, great food and service!
I appreciate cloth napkins, nice plates and silverware. They even place real butter on the tables.

Fish & chips was awesome! Onion rings were the best!

BTW, the tall draft beer is 25 ounces. The mugs bring a smile to your face!

I ordered the deep-fried white fish, which was prepared exceptionally well. The batter was light, not overly thick or soggy, and I received five or six pieces. I appreciated that the fish did not have a heavy or overly fishy taste, likely due to careful preparation, and it seemed quite fresh.

However, I would avoid ordering it with fries next time, as the combination felt like too much deep-fried food. On their own, the battered fries were delicious. The chicken noodle soup was the best I've ever had, perfect for a rainy day, and I enjoyed the bread rolls as well.

I do think the broccoli could use improvement. While the portion was generous, the flavor was quite bland, and the pieces were cut too large, making them difficult to eat. A bit of butter and seasoning would enhance the dish significantly.

Overall, it was a great meal, and I was pleased to find that the total was under $30. The Butterfinger peanut butter pie was definitely worth the extra money and calories. My husband ordered the two chicken breasts smothered in BBQ, which were flavorful but on the spicy side—something to consider if you’re sensitive to heat.

I noticed that all the other dishes looked appealing as well. We've dined here a few times, often opting for their other location on the south side for convenience, but we both agree that the quality is superior at this location. We would definitely recommend it and plan to return.

Our waitress was very kind, though she seemed busy and not entirely on top of things. Nonetheless, her friendliness made up for it.
