Oyster happy hour is all I needed to hear to want to try Angelo’s! And they didn’t disappoint. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The spinach salad was also a great palate refresher. Loved the toasted ravioli too. Can’t recommend their oysters enough and such a good price during happy hour!

Checked out this local spot for some happy hour specials. Food came out fresh and tasty. Definitely recommended. The chargrilled oysters were good, but the raw oysters were definitely better. Lots of variety for your dining experience.

We came for their 3-6pm happy hour and we were so impressed. Everything from their drinks to their desserts were great. Definitely getting the bang for your buck. I’ve paid much more for food I haven’t enjoyed in the area! The oysters are a great deal!!

I saw that it was voted best restaurant in Capitol Hill where I work so I decided to check it out. The place was super busy at lunch so I sat at the bar instead of waiting on a table to open up. The bartender Davis was great! I ordered the slider trio and the calamari. The description of the calamari sounded just like how I prefer it with lots of peppers mixed in. There were plenty of peppers but them and the calamari were fried way too long. Everything was super crispy and had zero flavor. I prefer my calamari tender not crunchy and I prefer my peppers not fried at all. The sliders were good but nothing special. The bar got very crowded when my food came out so eating comfortably was a chore as I was shoulder to shoulder with the people that decided to sit right next to me. Then a couple posted up behind me and ordered wine which was handed to them over me while I’m still trying to eat my food. They then stayed there so that I had to finish my meal surrounded by some of the most boring conversations I’ve ever heard. That last bit was not the restaurants fault but this is not a place that I’ll be returning to anytime soon.

I have no excuse or explanation for why I have never been to Angelo's before, despite having lived five minutes away for 30 years--but I am kicking myself about my poor decision making.

My friend and I finally gave Angelo's a try for their amazing happy hour and were thoroughly satisfied. We sat in a comfortable booth near the bar and enjoyed the heavenly atmosphere. The stained glass windows made me feel like we were at the church of pasta.

The staff was great; very helpful and quite efficient. All of the food came out very quickly and was piping hot. The first available staffer appeared to bring out each item, so nothing sat waiting for our server to have time to find it.

Angelo's has gone through a number of changes over the years, but these days it's Angelo's Taverna and it's owned by the Carboy Winery group. They run a tight ship. Angelo's does not take reservations, but you can call several days in advance to put your name on the waiting list. You go to the top of the list as soon as you check in.

I had a very generous glass of syrah from the Carboy section of the wine list. My friend had a Manhattan (served with a trendy, single, large ice cube) and said it was first-rate.

We started with oysters, a combination of the raw house oyster of the day and the "original" chargrilled oysters. The raw oysters were fresh and delicious, but the chargrilled oysters were amazing. They were the largest oysters we had even seen. The garlic butter sauce with herbs, spices, and pecorino cheese was perfect and the oysters were exceptionally tender and flavorful. Wow, what a great start!

We then tried the crab cake sliders which were much larger than I anticipated, full of crab, on a nice bun, and with arugula and a tasty remoulade. The toasted ravioli were next, perfectly prepared, and with a really excellent marinara. We finished with Caesar salads--perfectly chilled and with a delightful, fresh dressing.

Angelo's is the perfect neighborhood bar: welcoming, comfortable, a great selection of well-prepared drinks, and a good selection of delicious food. I won't make the mistake of being a stranger again.

Oooh this place is so fire, I can't begin to express it. Chefs kiss all around.

I enjoy the aura of this place. We sat on the back patio which was cute and chill plus the service was great. I got the lobster gnocci and yeahhhh, they did what they had to do with that one, period. As an appetizer, we got the burrata plate which was a lovely start. The spreads offered were great, my favs were the pesto and the jam.

After telling Susie (so sorry if this is the wrong name) about our engagement, she offered us a dessert as a gift. Obviously, we couldnt say no ? so we got the chocolate raviolis w/ ice cream. It was unique AND delicious!!!

It was a Monday night, but the place was busy, we had to join the wait-list for a table for 3 with waiting expectations of 20-30 min. But I got a text in 8 minutes, that the table was ready.
It was really cold with AC blowing right on us, but the waitress was actually really nice to turn it off in that area for our comfort.
We ordered different dishes to share, so everybody can try, and it was great! The calamari were delicious but really spicy, just be aware)). The lobster ravioli were so yummy, we had to order more garlic bread to finish the sauce, it was that good. We also tried three different desserts, I'll add the pictures, they were great as well. If you like chocolate fondant, you'll enjoy their chocolate dumplings.
I'm especially grateful for an opportunity to enjoy a glass of Italian Moscato, which is a rare catch in the US.
It was busy, as I mentioned earlier, but it was cozy, I felt like I was at a restaurant in Italy, but in Denver))
Definitely coming again.

Lovely dinner and experience. The staff was so nice and the food was spectacular! Would go here again and again if I lived closer. We got a bunch of appetizers this time. When we go back again, I am excited to try their many entres. They specialize in Italian food. Their lunch is supposed to be great, with lots of sandwich options.
