The food was so delicious, well seasoned, and fresh! Pikliz were flavorful and the right amount of spice! I love having the option for sweet plantain. If you’re craving Haitian food, this will hit the spot. The service was also spectacular and the owners are very friendly! I will definitely come back again!

They just recently opened so don’t get lost, if it says 5 cent diner on the outside, you’re in the right place!

Amazing food, amazing vibes - we've never had Haitian food before and we were so pleasantly surprised. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, the space is cool too. We got the grilled salmon (flavor on point) and pork (so crispy and juicy) with the house green sauce (YUMMM) and our plates were CLEAN. They were out of some things cuz we came after 9 on a night before they were catering for a festival - and they've got some creative ideas for menu additions - so we're really excited to come back and try more.

Haven’t found many good Haitian spots in LA. This one hits the spot. Had the legume and diri djon djon and the veggie bowl. And the pikliz was amazing! Right amount of spice and flavor. Definitely will come back when I visit again.

HAITI (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - In Downtown's old Nickel Diner space, a new Haitian restaurant is born from a chef who has been hustling his flavors in Los Angeles for some time. At the top of the new restaurant’s menu is somewhat of a staple of the island, griot ($11.95 à la carte, $21.95 plate). This pork is marinated with citrus and spices, then slowly braised. Just before the pork is perfectly juicy and ready to serve, it is dunked in the deep fryer to give every piece a nice crisp. If you have yourself a plate of griot and a side of pikliz, life is going well.

If you're wanting good Haitian food in LA, don't waste your time here. Just drive to Caribbean Pleasure in San Diego where a real Haitian auntie is making meals with love and care.

For one, it's a shared restaurant with the Soulos Soul Food restaurant and that's not an issue... but when the Haitian food comes out tasting like Soul Food - that's a problem.

Ordered Griot plate w/rice and peas, Legume w/beans and rice, macaroni au gratin and a side of Sos Pwa that I never received (my fault for not checking the bag).

The Griot meat was obviously not cleaned properly or else the citrus from the lime would be noticeable. On top of that, somebody battered it like a pork chop and served it burnt as hell. TERRIBLE.

The Legume was bland at best. Could tell it wasn't made fresh and the rice and beans were obviously microwaved. Bad, but not as terrible as the Griot.

The macaroni au gratin was actually delicious... but with our main courses being garbage.. it really didn't matter.

Oh and the Pikliz looked like vomit. Very unappetizing.

Customer service wasn't anything memorable but not as terrible as the food.

I'm convinced NO Haitians were involved in the making of this food and if you really love Haitian food, again, head to Caribbean Pleasure in San Diego. Don't waste $75 like I did

If you’re looking for authentic Haitian cuisine that delivers on flavor, quality, and service, this restaurant is a must-visit! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality that set the tone for an amazing dining experience. The menu is filled with classic Haitian dishes.

Service was attentive but not intrusive, with the staff checking in regularly to make sure everything was just right. You can tell they take pride in both the food and the overall experience, and it shows in every detail.

This place is a solid 10 out of 10 for me. If you’re craving authentic Haitian flavors with top-notch service, you won’t be disappointed! Highly recommend.

Amazing food and flavor. One of the only places you can get true Haitian food in LA. Plates are large, cooked fresh, and you won’t regret it!
