We live in the area and we absolutely love this bakery. The coffee is amazing and the pastries are always fresh and delicious. We come several times a week and we have tried most things now. I can confidently say that everything is great. The cookies ? are so soft and chewy. They make fresh baked cheesecakes, they're so delicious and not overly sweet like others. The croissants are also great. One of our favorite things are the different fruit tarts. Theo the owner is so caring and sweet. This is the bakery you would want to visit for a great coffee and treat.

Decided to try the Lemon Bichon and the chocolate chip cookie because it looked like the ones in the cafeteria.

The lemon bichon had a nice crunch from the caramelized sugar however, i found the pastry to be a bit dry and more on the crunchy side than chewy and the filling was custard. There was only a very slight hint of lemon flavour. Definitely check out Barbershop Patisserie for lemon bichons and they are around the same price too.

The chocolate chip cookie was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside with a hint of bitterness from being slightly burnt. The flavour was good but I thought it tasted similar to the Betty Crocker mix.

Among other things I ordered a 85% dark hot chocolate. Here’s a picture - you be the judge of this. The other drink I got was an iced mocha - they didn’t care to mix the chocolate syrup with espresso before adding the cold milk and ice. The syrup just sat at the bottom and I could only get lumps of chocolate sauce if I pushed the straw all the way down. Phew! How sad an experience where both the drinks I ordered were an absolute waste of money.

Upon my arrival, I was met by two exuberant young girls, radiating with lively energy; their service was both swift and enchanting. The sandwiches and coffee were nothing short of extraordinary.

Great bakery & exceptional service! Ohla & Zaynab were both most professional, personable & informative in regards to le Gourmands offerings!

I simply love the chocolate chip cookie & my wife just has to have the almond croissant every time we drop in!

The hot cocoa is also excellent & my wife tried the iced matcha latte with macadamia milk for the first time. It won’t be her last time. She loves it & was a great recommendation by Ohla!

Le Gourmand is one of the BEST bakeries in TO! & they have the excellent service to go along perfectly with their divine desserts. Thank you Ohla & Zaynab! We’ll be back very soon! ?

Well, what do I say about new “Le Gourmand” location?

I have to say, as the brand new customer, was not overjoyed with poor customer service. In this industry it is detrimental to stand out with exceptional product and customer service to reflect the cost (ofcourse if you wish for the client to return).

It was disappointing to see this bakery open at 9am when their competition (down the street) opens at 8am. I stayed and waited ONLY to try new place and I had time, otherwise I would definitely go someplace where earlier service was available. (I really do not wish to go into detail of how this should have been handled).
Sometimes, we have to go over and above our line of duty to sustain the business especially at the time when you have to make a mark.

When I finally was ALLOWED to come in
I ordered my butter croissants and few “World Famous Chocolate and walnut cookies”. Packaging for cookies was great, however I cannot say the same for the croissants. Croissants are light and flaky therefore should not be piled on top of each other rather layered in a box.

Products are slightly overpriced, but that is usually normal when you start a new business. I am always more than happy to pay more for great product...

Croissants were well laminated, but over-proofed. It was also slightly under cooked. Taste was great though.
Cookies were very tasty, had nice chewiness to them. I have noticed they are NOT consistent in size and amount of chocolate and walnuts for such big price ticket.

In conclusion, I truly hope this bakery survives in this neighbourhood.
If you have decided to charge bit more then bakeries that are exceptionally good then you need to up your game.
Great product without good customer service is sometimes JUST NOT ENOUGH.

I have given you 3 stars as I am planning to return couple more times and see if you will stay consistent to current service or will there be improvement.

Le Gourmand Bakery is a small place to have coffee, hot and cold drinks, cakes and Sandvich etc. There are around 2 tables inside the coffee shop and 2 outside. It's a good place to have coffee in peace and do some work if you wish. They have another adjoining place for food which is bigger but that's open for a limited time.
